Date: Friday, March 16, 2007

For the last 21 years, the largest conference for mathematics
teachers in the New York area has been the LIMACON (Long Island MAth
CONference) set for Friday March 16, 2007 at SUNY's College at Old
Westbury. Attached is a copy of the brochure. Organized and sponsored
by three professional organizations and the college for teachers, it
draws about 500 educators annually.

This year's conference will feature the nationally prominent Dr.
Cathy Seeley, Immediate Past President of the National Council of
Teachers of Mathematics as keynote speaker. Her topic will be "A PR
Campaign for Math: Lessons From Advertising". Other highlights are
sessions given by 43 other speakers and about 25 vendors. I will
speak about problem solving on behalf of the Math Olympiads. A
continental breakfast and lunch is included.
